Puede sonar gracioso pero a más de uno debe de haberle pasado que ha ido a la ventanilla de un banco y le han dicho: No hay sistema, regrese más tarde!

Hoy tuve que ir a la Sunarp (Oficina de Registros públicos) a recoger un documento y ¿qué creen? No había sistema!

Yo estuve por ahi cerca a las 11am y había gente que desde las 9am esperaba a que regrese el sistema! Osea cerca de 200 personas (no sé la capacidad exacta del edificio) esperando a que regrese el sistema!

Mientras salía, me puse a reflexionar en el impacto que tienen sobre nuestros usuarios estas fallas en nuestras queridas herramientas de TIC.

Las pérdidas de horas hombre, cuantos negocios parados y qué tal si la caida del sistema era también en los demás locales. Caray!

Some time ago I discovered Social Bookmarking tools, e.g.: furl, del.icio.us
however none of them filled my eyes just like Spurl did.

It was almost perfect. It has an almost perfect integration with Opera, Firefox and IE.
I could choose whether to keep some urls as private or make them public, publishing categories as URLs that I could share with colleagues, friends and the world :)

But some day, Spurl failed me. It was down for days without explanation. This situation repeated several times and as I was afraid of loosing my links, I exported my urls to a file that I keep in my computer, and now I am using Google Bookmarks for storing those valuable URLs.

From time to time I return to Spurl only for visiting and for being sure that it is online, with the hope that some big company may buy them. The last thing I would like to see is a sinking ship. I would prefer to see a successful and well designed product available for the masses. So Google guys, why don't you give them a call and ask their team for some help and improve your Google Bookmarks tool, that although useful, is years far behind Spurl features.

Caray, que voluble es la gente, se entusiasma por algo fácilmente y así facilmente también le pierden interés.

Hace un año a través de una iniciativa de la ANWMP se hizo una web que buscaria crear interés en Paypal para que extendiese los servicios que brinda hacia Perú.

Un año después y la web que tenía una instalación de Drupal, y algunos pocos mensajes tiene ahora un contenido diferente, que promueve el producto de una empresa privada.

Es cierto que ahora ya es posible usar Paypal desde Perú para pagar servicios (y vaya que es una gran cosa) pero sería algo REALMENTE REVOLUCIONARIO si se pudiesen aceptar pagos.
